When I was six years old, my mom returned to the riding ring, and one of my most vivid memories is watching her canter around the indoor arena. I was captivated. She told me I couldn’t start riding until I turned seven—I was devastated. But seven couldn’t come fast enough. I began riding in 2016, and in 2021, I started competing on the IEA circuit. In 2023, I transitioned to showing on the IHJA “B” circuit. I currently train with Paula McKinnon at Glen Grove Equestrian Center. Some of my competition highlights include being a 2025 Limit Medal Finalist, where I placed in the top four, along with finishing 6th overall in the 2025 Limit Children’s Equitation, and 7th overall in the 2025 Limit Children’s Hunters for the season.
I’m currently a junior at Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook, IL, where I’m focused on maintaining strong academic performance, including my current 3.07 GPA. Outside of the classroom, I spend much of my free time with friends and family, and especially enjoy spending extra time at the barn with the horses whenever I can.
The opportunity to ride at the collegiate level would make all the time, dedication, and hard work I’ve put into my junior equestrian career even more meaningful. I’m fully committed to finding a university that supports both my academic goals and my passion for riding. Being part of an IHSA team would truly be a dream come true. This sport has not only taught me how to ride— but how to work hard for what I want, how to be patient, and lastly how to navigate many tricky situations. I’m excited to find the college team that will help me continue growing both in and out of the saddle!
